In order to develop a safe and an adequate system, we evaluated the effect of back-filtrated infusion on the solute removal efficiency in intermittent infusion hemodiafiltration (I-HDF) this year. In order to develop a dialysis-dose monitor for uremic toxins in the spent dialysate, we produced an improved prototype dialysis-dose monitor using ultraviolet LED on the basis of the knowledge obtained by the prototype monitor. We examined the performance of the improved prototype monitor using spent dialysate harvested by clinical hemodialysis treatments (n=10). Kt / V (K: clearance (mL / min), t: time (min), V: the amount of body fluids (mL)) were verified to follow well in single-compartment model. By the single compartment model, it considered that the time-course of changes in the blood concentration could be estimated with sufficient accuracy. Currently, we will also develop a navigation algorithm necessary for establishment of the optimal treatment conditions for each patient.
