The purpose of this project is to develop useful sensor devices and the sensor network system for monitoring construction of roads (e.g. in the tunnel (jet fans), in the light(display board, streetlights)).
It is necessary that this system realized certain and effective monitoring. This research and development elements was classified into eight and developed the 1st prototype of sensor and evaluation in FY2015.

About sensor part, we reflected the sensing algorithmic improvement which we decided the specifications in FY2014 and developed the 1st prototype of sensor. In addition, we evaluated the sensing algorithm and confirmed that the 1st prototype of sensor worked according to the design by the 1st prototype of sensor experiment for jet fans. To grasp the change of the jet fan condition in more detail in the future, it is necessary to detect the change of the natural frequency measurement and amplitude and to understand the association the change and abnormal conditions of the jet fan.

About electric power source part, we developed the battery with 4,000 cycles performance because of changing the condition such as the charge and discharge rate and the voltage range and put the most suitable additive for electrode to realize maintenance-free in the long-term. In addition, in the independence generation part, we evaluated two solar power generations and two oscillating generations which were made both in Japan and abroad and were selected in FY2014. Furthermore, we confirmed that they worked according to the design(14.1mW-10%、0.14mW-10%). However, when two oscillating generations attached to the jet fan, they generated only maximum about 0.01mW and we cloud not accomplished in the targeted value. It is more likely to be a factor that the oscillating generations did not resonate with the jet fan because the vibration was not constant. In the future, we will be able to make generate electricity according to design when the vibration is not constant and to increase the generation amount.

Furthermore, about wireless part, we developed the wireless part and the Mobile Reader that were implemented 1st prototype sensor and confirmed that worked without any problems for realizing “The mobile-reader drive system”. In addition, we measured the communications distance, the packet loss rate and the radio wave in the tunnel, and got the prospect that could receive sensor data while running by a car.

In the future, we will develop the 2nd prototype of sensor based on the 1st prototype of sensor and the experiment and will evaluate in the roads.
