英文要約Title: Research and development of innovative robot structure component using next generation
functional materials and its effective utilization methods

 Many robots are controlled by master slave system remotely, like as da Vinci of medical equipment, the construction machine at a nuclear power plant and so on. However, the present systems are operated based on visual information, so operators need practice of an operational person beforehand. The tactile sense and sense of touch are asked for in these master slave systems.
Our goal is to develop man machine interface using the nano-MR fluid (the colloidal dispersion containing the iron nanoparticles). The medical support robot is made for the target as one case of man mechanical interface.
The performances of nano-MRF were also excellent in torque stability as well as sedimentation stability. So the nano-MR fluid is able to drive even small torque stably, and it is safety because of passive device. And also the response of viscosity change for magnetic field is fast (several ms). Later, it'll be possible to achieve a small and light-weight device more than a device using a motor.
In this year, we carried out the following items. 1.Production of nano-MR fluid and performance evaluation, 2.The durability test of nano-MR fluid (development of evaluation equipment and Prelims) and 3.Development of tactile sense and sense of touch evaluation technique of a MR device (spare examination). We have arranged preparations, as produced nano-MR fluid, and developed the evaluation equipment for safety, durability and tactile sense and sense of touch.
