英文要約Title:Research and Development of Bio Innovative Design Technology (FY2014-FY2016) FY2015 Annual Report

Design methodology learning from nature is often called “bio-inspiration” and “bio-mimetics” design, from which an innovative design methodology can be developed. To develop a new design methodology, we are now working on the following three research topics:
【Topic 1】: Construction of design database with form in biology:
・ 50 patterns completed.
・ Hammer learning from cat bone has been developed.
・ Mesh-matching method for shape optimization is now developed (60% completed).
【Topic 2】: Development of data-based design optimization technique:
・ Design optimization method using machine learning has been developed (Almost completed).
・ Practical engineering problems have been solved by using this technique (Completed).
・ A software for design optimization using Microsoft Excel is now developed (90% completed).
【Topic 3】: Development of braiding production technology combining Topics 1 and 2:
・ Several test pieces for lightweight and high stiffness were manufactured.
・ Manufacturing technology for SHELL+RIB is now developed (60% completed).
・ Manufacturing technology for bifurcation structure is now developed (60% completed)
Design methodology that three research topics are integrated is called “Bio Innovative Design Technology (BIDT)”.
