英文要約This paper reports an abstract of the half way report of a “Development of an integrated motor-inverter for EV traction system” which has been investigated from FY2014 to FY2016. The following results have been obtained.

1.Design of PMSM for an EV.
5 phases PMSM which has a winding exchange methodology has been proposed and 2-D design and FEA results have been completed. By using the winding exchange method, the driving area has been expanded and the efficiency has been improved.

2.Thermal design of the inverter module.
Thermal analysis has been completed and the driving condition in which the junction temperature will not exceed 240 deg. could be obtained. Also the heat sink thickness and maximum operation time with conducting maximum current could be calculated.

3.Inverter module design.
A half bridge inverter which can realize very low parasitic inductance has been designed and realized. 1200V 120A module was safely driven and low parasitic inductance characteristic was measured.
