英文要約Title: Practical Application of Precast Concrete Member with Super-High Durability Concrete (FY2014-FY2016) FY2015 Annual Report

In the case of field-cured concrete containing blast furnace slag with a water to binder ratio of 25%, the process capacity index of Pilot Plant 1 was 0.74 to 2.80; while the process capacity index of Pilot Plant 2 was 0.64 to 4.96. The capacity index of each factory is great because there are many varieties of products and the specimens of each product are cured in different locations in the stockyard of each product. Moreover, the curing location was set so as to control the curing condition of specimens for standard curing and field curing.
In the case of standard-cured concrete containing blast furnace slag with a water to binder ratio of 25%, the process capacity index of Pilot Plant 1 was 1.75 to 2.47. The process capability index of standard curing of concrete becomes greater than 1.3, which is a sufficient process capability index. This result indicates that the large variation in the strength management in Pilot Plant 1 was due to the curing condition, not the variation of materials and mixing method. From the next stage, steam curing and spray curing condition will be considered and implemented to gain a higher quality product.
In these pilot plants, the precast concrete products containing blast furnace slag and a water to binder ratio of 25% are over-spec for compressive strength; however, this quality does not guarantee the resistance to freeze and thaw or chloride diffusion. This concrete will be used to produce box culverts, road products and retaining walls. The quality control indexes are strength and dimension of products. The manufacturing performance of 2014 and 2015 were 3,644 tons and 11,000 tons, relatively. Production of concrete with blast furnace slag and a water to binder ratio of 30% in Pilot Plant 1 will begin in October of 2016. The process capacity index of that field-cured production was 0.65 to 1.38, while the process capacity index of the standard-cured production was 1.86 to 2.46. Steam-cured products did not achieve a level of quality commensurate with standard curing.
Specimens of concrete containing blast furnace slag and a water to binder ratio of 30% did not exhibit a resistance to freeze and thaw in the results of the durability test, proving the axiom “The quality of concrete belongs to the strength of concrete” to be untrue. In addition to testing the steam curing method, the establishment of a simple test method to control the durability of concrete will be investigated in the next stage of research.
Concrete containing blast furnace slag, obtained from a different part of the Kansai region, as a fine aggregate did not significantly affect the established resistance to freeze and thaw. It is, therefore, assumed that blast furnace slag from steel production factories could improve the durability of concrete in the future.
