Chiyoda and Yokohama National University are carrying out the R&DD including below.
- Variable renewable energy (simulated signal) is loaded to electrolyser to produce hydrogen with fluctuating flow rate, which is sent to hydrogenation process to produce methylcyclohexane, which is stably stored.
- System to utilize the waste heat from SOFC for dehydrogenation (endothermic reaction), to supply the hydrogen from organic chemical hydride to SOFC via purification.
- System for grid stabilization while controling the demand by electrolyser
Mid target for the end of FY2015 as blow were achieved.
About hydrogen purification;
-Engineering, procurement & construction(EPC) of the electrolyser was completed.
-EPC of the process to purify the raw hydrogen gas from electrolyser was completed.
-EPC of balance of plant was completed.
About SOFC;
-the experiments to obtain the data for radiation and waste heat were completed.
-test equipment to supply simulated gas to SOFC module was completed.
About grid stabilization;
-Grid modele for simulation was completed.
-The evaluation criteria for stabilization was defined and the related figures were decided.
