Objective of the present research is focused on producing new diagnostic equipment, which evaluates SOH (state of health) of lithium ion secondary batteries (LIBs) by using AC impedance measurement and the corresponding data-base. The equipment is used for the market needed to diagnose safety for many cells and packages of LIB. The business services regarding SOH evaluation of LIB using this diagnostic method are also planned. In order to produce the diagnostic equipment, the following research themes were conducted;1. Improvement of multiplex AC impedance measurement and the related software.2. Accumulation of the AC impedance data for LIBs used for EV and HEV,3. Selection of suitable pseudo-equivalent circuits expressing the impedance responses of LIBs,4. Comparison of the data between DC pulse and AC Impedance measurement methods,5. Research on the correlation between each parameter value of components for the equivalent circuit about the AC impedance and degree of capacity-fade for LIB,6. Evaluation of AC impedance measurements for packed LIB,7. Design of a diagnostic equipment of LIB,8. Establishment of the frame for the corresponding business plan.All contents regarding the research items described above have been done completely on March 31, 2014.
