(1) Improvement and performance examination of CPV
For development of Gyro-type CPV (concentrated photo voltaic), the target of the development is “weight-lighting / self-powering and self-controlling / high performance- and low price-mirror “. To reduce the weight of the mirror board which carry the mirrors, we have achieved to develop the new type of mirror made of the resign mirror with Fresnel reflective structure. Using the acrylic mirror plate made by laminating with Indium metallic film, Fresnel reflective mirror was fabricated by die machining. The Fresnel reflective mirror was fabricated at the reflectivity of 70% in this FY development.The Gyro-heliostat concept is that the mirror plane weight is always balanced in any configuration during the sun-tracking. This results in the small electric power consumption due to the small torque of the motor movement to change the mirror configuration during the sun tracking (Gyro-drive). In this FY development, we have focused on the lowering of the power consumption for the Gyro-drive aiming at “True Self-Powering”, which moves the Gyro-drive with own equipped-small-powered PV panel and is needed for Mega-Solar PV. The power consumption of below 50mA was achieved.
(2)Development of high efficient heat utilization system of solar heat storage tank with thermal gradient layers
It was confirmed that the water temperature of the inner tank increased rapidly from 40℃ and formed gradually a temperature gradient layered in the thermal storage tank with the time. Thus, the distributer technology for the temperature gradient layered in the thermal storage tank has been successfully developed.
(3)Development of water jacket
The development of the water jacket was carried out using the test machine for the water jacket development (fabricated in the last FY). The four patterns of water flow pass were applied for with 0.5-1.3kW heat flux and 0.5-1.5L/min flow rate. The flow pass width of 2mm is suitable for controlling the flow rate and the heat flux below 100℃ of the water jacket surface temperature. In case of 1mm also, it was found out that the pressure loss due to the increase in the flow rate can be maintained below 200kPa at 1.5L/min (maximun) of the flow rate.
(4)Application for plant factory and land fish farming
For application of this system for the plant factory and fish cultivation at the land, we have investigated the practical 2MWe Mega Solar system, which can be applicable for the LED electric power and the room air condition energy consumption at plant factory and medical corporations.
