英文要約Title: Research and Development of High Efficiency CIS Thin-Film Submodules (FY2015-FY2017) FY2015 Annual Report

The target for this project is to achieve a conversion efficiency of 19% on CIS-based submodules. In FY2015, we achieved the efficiency of 18.6% on the submodule by increasing absorption in the CIS-based absorber and improving transmittance of a ZnO window layer. At first, there was a FF degradation due to a non-uniformity in the large area absorber though remarkable Jsc improvement was observed. The uniformity improvement restricted the FF degradation, and contributed to realize 18.6% efficiency. In order to accelerate efficiency improvement on submodule, we developed new elemental items by using small CIS-based cells. In the result, we achieved the world’s highest efficiency of 22.3% on the small cells due to a large improvement of Voc and FF. Regarding Voc improvement, a new surface passivation technique on the CIS-based absorber was established and a new buffer layer was introduced. For the FF improvement, a series resistance on a back electrode was reduced and a contact resistance between the back electrode and the absorber was also restricted. These items will accelerate the efficiency improvement on the submodule and enable us to achieve 19% efficiency in near future.
