2. Acquisition of data for FCV's domestic regulations and international standards harmonization
(a) Rationalization of purge gas hydrogen concentration
In order to understand basic combustion characteristics of hydrogen gas, the ignition tests were carried out by changing conditions of hydrogen concentration, oxygen concentration and humidity.

3. Safety evaluation for fuel-cell vehicles
(a) Residual strength of the tank exposed by fire
The residual strength of cooling tank after heating and during heating tank is exposed by fire (flame temperature of 600-800 degrees) were investigated.

(b) Residual strength of the tank scratched by guns
The residual strength of damaged tank after High Strain Rate Impact Test(SAE J2579) were investigated.

(c) Risk survey around vehicles during activation of pressure release device
In order to obtain safety distances in fire-fighting and rescue activities of fuel cell vehicles, a fire test of vehicle equipped with compressed hydrogen tanks with 70MPa filling was conducted flame length, heat flux, temperature and noise level during activation of thermal pressure release device's.
