R&D Overview and Results
Research and development on log/traffic analyzing technologies that enable to, in an effective and an efficient manner, confirm soundness of machines/devices, which are involved in information and control network (INF-NW), IoT network (IoT-NW), control network (CTL-NW) and cloud system as infrastructure of dynamic map platform, are carried out. These technologies consist of results of the following four development items.

1. R&D for soundness confirmation technologies of INF-NW
In this theme, against the backdoors communication in INF-NW, the novel real-time monitoring function, the analysis function, and the control function are being studied.
In FY2016, the feasibility and effectiveness of the basic method is confirmed by the prototype system based on the functional requirements developed in FY2015. And the functional requirements for the next version aiming practical use is developed.

2. R&D for soundness confirmation technology of IoT-NW
2-1 R&D for soundness confirmation technology using log/traffic from/to IoT devices
Anomaly detection technologies for the IoT devices in IoT-NW connected with single INF-NW and also with multiple INF-NW are being studied.
In 2016, the prototype system using above technologies is implemented based on the functional requirements developed in 2015 and the feasibility of the basic method is confirmed. And the effectiveness of the method is confirmed.

2-2 R&D of soundness confirmation technology by IoT-GW
The following studies were carried out to realize the functions to monitor and analyze the operation of IoT-GW.
(1) The functions of collecting traffic information of IoT devices effectively
(2) Implementation of soundness degradation detection function in IoT-GW
In 2016, the IoT-GW prototype of soundness confirmation technology is established based on the functional requirements studied in 2015. And the usefulness of this method is evaluated.

3. R&D for soundness confirmation technology of CTL-NW
In this theme, we are studying the evolvable technologies for operation monitoring and analysis by developing innovative analysis model which can integrate area specific knowledge of control systems in a critical infrastructure and common knowledge among multiple areas.
In 2016, the prototype system is implemented based on the functional requirement document which include the user’s requirement into the soundness confirmation technology defined in 2015
And the prototype system is evaluated in the test environment based on the reference model of critical infrastructures defined in 2015.

4. R&D for soundness confirmation technology of cloud system as infrastructure of dynamic map platform
In this theme, we are studying the security technologies necessary for cloud system as infrastructure of dynamic map platform.
In 2016, infrastructure security requirements are defined based on the security system adapted in the cloud system as a reference. And security enhancement recommendation is developed, which is necessary to define application security requirements in 2017.
These R&D results are shared with SIP Automated Driving for Universal Service project (Service platform) and used for the study of security architecture of service platform.
