In this research and development, we will develop assessments and/or verification platform technology (common platform technology and verification environment). With this technology, operators of critical infrastructures can achieve safety evaluation with ease in order to adapt (a)technologies to their systems.
We executed report writing and requirement definitions, and preparation of verification environment in FY2016.

(1) Security threat analysis
We research cases of cyber attacks/threats to critical infrastructures, and standards/guidelines about cyber security. We researched trends of cyber attacks for critical infrastructures and systems for cyber security in FY2016.

(2) Design of common platform technology and verification environment (common sectors)
We adjust verification platform technology of common sectors. With this technology, operators of common sectors can achieve safety evaluation with ease in order to adapt (a)technologies to their systems. We finished writing the requirement definitions in FY2016.

(3) Design of common platform technology and verification environment (energy and transportation sectors)
We carry out risk assessment of each sector, develop guideline to adapt (a)technologies, develop verification items and procedures, preparation of verification environment, and support (a)technologies verification, in order to establish verification platform technology of each sector.
We carried out pre-test and test for verification environment in each sector's environment in FY2016. For FY2016, the following were accomplished:

- We explored requirements of verification environment assuming the cooperation of each sector.
- We designed and pre-tested verification environment, and constructed and tested verification environment in each sector's environment.
- Based on results of the design, construction and test, we developed guidelines.

(4)Design of common platform technology and verification environment (Information & Communication sectors)

In this research, we built consensus with a critical infrastructure provider of information and telecommunication toward social Implementation,
and made the basic design of technology assessment environment for shortening the schedule for this deployment.

The following were accomplished.
- Made lists of cybersecurity technologies and examples of cybersecurity incidents for risk assessment of critical infrastructure providers of information and telecommunication.
- Completed the basic design of the technology assessment environment.
- Made survey and consideration of Application Guidelines such as safety and security standards ahead of schedule, which can promote implementation as grounds in critical infrastructure providers.
