R&D Item 1: Enhanced the intermittent renewable generation forecast and estimate technology for detailed power control
Development of data collection prototype system from a variety of renewable generation in Tohoku area has been finished. Development of prototype of forecast and estimate technology for detailed power control has been finished.
R&D Item 2: The Standardization and price reduction of the power control system of the intermittent renewable generation
We studied the information transmission items and device configuration of the CDT equipment which will be installed on the wind farms (WFs) in order to cost reduction and standardize. We started constructing communication systems based on the voltage classes between the power utility and generating companies.
About an output control unit for extra-high voltage systems, we pushed forward development at standardized capacity based on the findings of the transmission format and completed the evaluation of the device.
We arranged a use case which is required for output control and devised necessary specifications. Based on those specifications, we developed a software which can manage the communication of interactive and single direction and confirmed that it works as designed on software.
R&D Item 3: The advancement and optimization of the power control system of the intermittent renewable generation
Basic algorithm based on wind power forecasts and mathematical programming has been developed. The equitable distribution of wind power control has been confirmed by annual simulations.
Based on the prototype which we manufactured last year, we arranged specifications and completed the software development of Head End System which realizes the transmission and reception for the power control information to the high and low voltage wind power generation by the communication of interactive and single direction. Also, we completed the software development of a simulator which is capable of simulating situations for maximum 500 remote output control devices of interactive and single direction are connected to servers. We started to examine the concrete construction for installation and communication.
The basic specifications and composition of the intermediate system from a central dispatching office to WFs has been established.
R&D Item 4: Development and demonstration of a remote power control system.
We confirmed system configuration and functional specifications for the power control system installed at the central dispatching office, advanced the system development and completed the installation. We develop the remote power control system, including existing WFs, in cooperation with the Japan Wind Power Association. We proceed with detailed examination of test contents for field test.
