英文要約Title: Research and Development of Industrial scale protein synthesis method, sales of reagent kit and large scale protein synthesis business.

There are 5 subprojects to be conducted

Project #1: Establishing patent strategy and creation of intellectual property
Our protein synthesis technology consists of template preparation(1), transcription(2), and translation(3).
Template preparation step(1) is a step of amplifying the gene with a device called a thermal cycler and creating a template for the next step. Transcription step(2) is a step of synthesizing the messenger RNA(mRNA), and Translation step(3) is a process for the synthesis of protein from messenger RNA synthesized in (2) .
Currently these steps are designed for researchers and it is necessary to develop the scale up technology for industrial scale protein synthesis with this project.
That is, various new findings peculiar to mass production are expected, and prior art investigation in systems is necessary. Therefore, this fiscal year, as a preparation for intellectual property, we executed technical investigation to the supply chain such as from cropping to milling. Next fiscal year, we will develop necessary patents, create and deepen intellectual property rights to address the challenges which we discovered.

PROEJCT#2: Establishing in-house production technology for specific enzymes
Reagents as materials of our technology are amino acids, nucleic acids, enzymes, wheat embryo extract, etc. Most of them are procured from outside. For mass production, cost reduction is prerequisite. For this reason, it is to establish
in-house manufacturing technology for some enzymes. We prepared some equipment to do this, but others are carried over to the next fiscal year due to funds. When all necessary equipment are ready, we plant to start establishing this technology.

PROJECT#3: Establishing large-scale production techniques of wheat germ extract
Current wheat germ extraction techniques is in laboratory level, namely around ml level. It is necessary to establish for liter unit level. We did test experiment and successfully get 1/3 liter at a time. In the next fiscal year, our goal is to manufacture 10 liter wheat germ for 50 liter reaction.

PROJECT#4: Prototyping antibodies by our cell free synthesis system
Antibodies, two parts referred to as H-chain and L-chain are coupled with disulfide bond, have taken a Y-shaped structure. This disulfide bond is not sufficient in our technology. Therefore, this project is entrusted to Nagoya University and performs antibody prototyping.
This year, concentration condition for antibody is completed. In the next fiscal year, disulfide isomerase enzyme to facilitate synthesizing antibody will be isolated and we plan to synthesize antibody using disulfide isomerase.

PROJECT#5: Build business plan, market research and financing.
We started building and exploring alliance for financing. We executed several agreements with multiple companies and started discussions.
