New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)

On February 16th, NEDO entered into an MOU with the Ministry of Mining of Mongolia to start a joint project.

This project will demonstrate the dry coal preparation technology, which does not require the use of any water. The Tavan Tolgoi coal mine, located in one of the world’s largest coking and thermal coal deposits in Mongolia’s South Gobi region, will be the world’s first to use and demonstrate this dry coal preparation system that has the same sorting capacity as conventional water-based coal preparation processes. The project aims to reduce energy consumption by approximately 20% compared to conventional water-based coal preparation systems.
