New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)
As part of a joint research project with Kaneka Corporation, called the Verification Project for Versatile Application of Photovoltaic Generation, NEDO developed and has begun demonstration testing for a low-reflective and environmentally considerate wall-mounted photovoltaic (PV) power system.
This PV power system has an anti-glare function to counter light pollution, which is a significant issue with wall-mounted PV power systems in cities. Additionally, the appearance of the system can be enhanced with the application of a variety of colors, and frameless installation of the system is also possible. Demonstration testing is being conducted at the Taisei Technology Center in Totsuka Ward, Yokohama City. By confirming the power generation characteristics of the system, NEDO aims to commercialize wall-mounted PV power systems to help realize zero-energy building (ZEB).
