Clean Coal Technology Feasibility Studies Launched
-Aiming for Overseas Dissemination and Promotion of New Technologies-

June 10, 2016
New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)

Over the course of FY 2016 NEDO will be conducting studies concerning the design and feasibility of projects leading to the overseas dissemination of clean coal technologies (CCT) developed in Japan, targeting equipment and technology related to effective coal utilization such as high-efficiency coal-fired power generation technologies including ultra-supercritical (USC) and integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC), as well as coal gasification technology and operation and maintenance technology.

Through the dissemination and promotion of these technologies in the international market with a focus on emerging countries and coal producing countries, NEDO aims to support partner countries to improve energy efficiency and diversify energy sources. Further, these studies are expected to stabilize their energy supply and demand, and to solve global environmental issues.
