NEDO Launched System Development of Remote Power Output Control for Solar PV
－Aiming to Achieve Stable Control of Power Systems for the Maximum Use of Renewable Energy－

As power output of renewable energy is fluctuated by weather conditions, NEDO has begun development of the remote power control systems for solar power generation systems to stabilize and maximize the renewable energy application. This development is in response to an obligation of a ministerial ordinance revision from January 2015 concerning Japan’s Feed-In Tariff (FIT) scheme that all new grid-connected solar and wind power generation systems must be fitted with a remote power control system. Through the development of such control systems, fine-grained output control of various solar power generation systems will be achieved, which leads to realization of stable operation of the power systems.
By combining this technology with remote power output control systems for wind power generation systems currently being developed by NEDO, NEDO aims to encourage the enhancement of renewable energy.
