New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)

While strengthening development of robots for the maintenance of infrastructure such as bridges and river ways, NEDO has also newly begun the development of robot performance and testing method standards to ensure that the robots may be used safely and securely.

This development will be a new theme as part of a NEDO project to develop infrastructure maintenance robots which was launched in FY 2014. Through these efforts, NEDO expects that a variety of robots will be used successfully in various fields such as infrastructure inspection, logistics, and disaster response.
