NEDO has published the "Wind Power Generation Facilities and Installations Report in Japan" as of the end of FY 2015. The total installed wind capacity reached approximately 3.11 million kW, a 6% year-on-year increase, while the total number of installations in Japan increased by 3% to reach 2,102.
Every fiscal year, NEDO, in partnership with Japanese power companies, aggregates and releases various information on wind power generation facilities and installations. For this fiscal year’s report, NEDO surveyed all grid-connected wind power generation facilities with a single unit output of more than 10kW and a total output of more than 20kW, finding that in FY 2015 alone the number of installations increased by 86 and about 180,000kW of additional wind capacity was introduced.
