Successful Demonstration Operation of an LSI Circuit Using a Transistor Based on a New Principle Achieved
－Practical Use in Ultra-Low Power Consumption LSI Chips Expected－

Based on the outcome of a NEDO project, the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) succeeded in demonstrating the operation of an LSI circuit using a transistor based on a new principle that can be expected to enable ultra-low power consumption by operating at a low voltage of 0.2 to 0.3 V.
Going forward, with ultra-low power consumption LSIs that utilize this transistor, practical uses are expected to include sensor nodes for diagnostics of infrastructure such as bridges utilizing environmental power generation as well as wearable sensor nodes for biological information monitoring which do not require battery replacements.
