NEDO Launches a Demonstration of a Hybrid Power Generation System Combining Fuel Cells and Gas Turbines
- Verifying and evaluating the system's energy efficiency, performance and durability at Toyota's Motomachi Plant -

New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)

NEDO, along with its contractor Toyota Motor Corporation, has installed a "pressurized combined power generation system" (hybrid power generation system) that combines cylindrical solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and micro gas turbines (MGT) at Toyota's Motomachi Plant (located in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture) and has launched demonstration operations. The demonstration will use this hybrid power generation system as the plant's internal power generation facility and will verify and evaluate the system's energy efficiency, performance and durability. The demonstration will aim for the acceleration of the system development and the initial introduction to facilitate the commercialization of the SOFC.
