The Photonics Electronics Technology Research Association (PETRA) has established a new company called AIO Core Co., Ltd., to manufacture and sell "Optical I/O Core" in order to promote the commercialization of the world's smallest, fingertip-sized optical transceiver "Optical I/O Core" developed by NEDO and PETRA. This new company will be the first splitting stock Company in incorporation-type company Split that has spun off based on intellectual property and technology resulting from PETRA's research achievements.
"Optical I/O Core" is expected to contribute to a wide range of electronics industries as an innovative component that is key to offering both low power consumption and high-speed information transfer capabilities for information and communication equipment, while growing concern over the limitations on electric power and communications faced by facilities such as data centers.
