NEDO Launches Demonstration Test of Power Grid System which Simulates 2030 Energy Mix
- Conducting demonstration on two islands aiming for massive introduction of wind power -

As part of a NEDO project, Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc., TEPCO Power Grid, Inc., and TAKAOKA TOKO CO., LTD. launch a demonstration test which simulates the 2030 Energy Mix (the composition of energy sources expected in 2030) on April 14. The demonstration sites are located on two islands within Tokyo, Niijima and Shikinejima. The purpose of the project is to establish an advanced power grid system by upgrading technologies on prediction, control, and operation for the stable utilization of electricity from wind power and other renewable energy. The demonstration aims to identify technical problems and solutions in preparation for the expansion of renewable energy in Japan.
