NEDO Developed a High-Accuracy Infrared Radiation Thermometer System that Will Increase Energy Conservation
– Significant accuracy improvement within ± 25℃ error range successfully verified in an actual cement kiln –

As part of a NEDO project, Mitsubishi Materials Corporation and CHINO Corporation developed a high-accuracy infrared radiation thermometer system that will reduce the excessive use of heat energy in rotary kilns employed by the cement industry, thereby increasing the energy conservation impact.

Verifying the system within an actual kiln resulted in a significant improvement in accuracy that makes measurements within the range of ±25℃ possible, compared to conventional temperature measurement systems which have an error in the range of approximately -150 to -60℃.

The results of this project will be presented at the Annual Meeting of Cement and Concrete Engineering, which will be held on May 29 - 31, 2017.
