July 28, 2017
New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)
As part of NEDO Special Courses, NEDO has selected Osaka University and the University of Tokyo as locations to hold a series of lectures ("AI Data Frontier Course") for the purpose of training an industry-ready workforce. The lectures, which begin in FY2017, is designed as a response to the shortage of human resources in the artificial intelligence (AI) field.
During the course, which will last at least six months or more, students can systematically acquire knowledge of AI through the lectures, as well as AI techniques, including data building and analytic methods, through exercises using data from various sources, such as manufacturing sites and customer behavior.
In order to respond to the needs of the industry, NEDO aims to train an industry-ready workforce whose practical abilities can be of immediate use in implementing cutting-edge AI technology.
