NEDO Develops Method for Updating Operations Manuals by Using SNS
– Begins recruiting partner businesses to optimize caregiving operations –

New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)

NEDO and the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) have developed a method for updating operations manuals by using SNS. By having workers gather observations at caregiving sites via SNS, and structurally analyzing them using knowledge engineering, they can be added to work manuals. This method will solve many of the difficulties with manually updating operations manuals, such as the complicated nature of updating them and the frequency of readers having difficulty understanding the context of the information.

NEDO will now start recruiting partner businesses to conduct demonstrations of this method. The demonstrations will evaluate whether the method can help develop manuals that are useful for workers onsite and whether the quality of work is improving, such as work efficiency and risk reduction.
