As a managing entity of the "Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) Innovation of Automated Driving for Universal Services/Field Operational Tests," NEDO has selected contractors to pursue six research and development projects, such as high resolution 3D digital maps (Dynamic Map) and human-machine interface (HMI) which are necessary in automated driving system. NEDO also launched a full-scale demonstration test of its automated driving system today.
From now on, NEDO will continuously conduct full-scale demonstration tests on highways and public roads, with the aim of further accelerating the practical application of an advanced automated driving system by advancing its technological development and social reception.
