Based on the results of NEDO's project, tmsuk Co. Ltd. has developed an electric wheelchair robot, "RODEM," as a next-generation smart mobility vehicle that enables smooth transfer of riders. The product launched on November 20.

The robot incorporates numerous innovations based on verified results achieved through NEDO's project, "The International R&D and Demonstration Project on Robotic Field," which were refined during development of RODEM into functions suitable for practical use. The robot is expected to reduce burdens on both riders and their caregivers.

Going forward, this product, which makes use of Japan's robotic technology, is expected to disseminate in the field of nursing care in many countries around the world, including Europe. RODEM will also help to support the independence of riders and to reduce the burdens on their caregivers.
