NEDO, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., and Kanematsu Corporation have completed a large-scale quick charging station network with 55 chargers at 25 locations in the state of California, USA. The network's function has also been upgraded by linking data from a smartphone application service that provides real-time information for EV drivers, called "DRIVE THE ARC," with Nissan’s automobile information service, "NissanConnect." This full-scale demonstration project has been launched, with the goal of expanding EV usage ranges.

In this demonstration project, NEDO will collect and analyze data on various EV usage behavior patterns during a demonstration period of about two years. Among the information monitored will be factors such as where optimal installation sites of quick chargers might be and what kind of charging behaviors users display. It will also evaluate the possibility of extending EV usage ranges.

Through this demonstration project, Nissan and Kanematsu will evaluate EV usage real-time data and big data business opportunities.
