New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)
NEDO and ACTREE Corp. have successfully developed the world's first concentrator photovoltaic tracker system capable of converting 65% of its collected solar power into electricity and heat.
The system is a frame-mounted hybrid system, which can simultaneously generate electricity from sunlight and collect solar heat by utilizing hot water (over 60°C). Beginning in September 2017, a demonstration test will begin at the ACTREE Corp. headquarters in Hakusan, Ishikawa Prefecture.
ACTREE Corp. will design a commercial product based on the result of the demonstration test, the "iU SOALA," with a goal of bringing it to market in FY2018.
