NEDO Publishes Interim Report from "PV-powered vehicle Strategy Committee"
– Concludes that an automobile equipped with a photovoltaic system can go up to a year without charging –

January 31, 2018
New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)

NEDO previously organized the "PV-powered vehicle Strategy Committee," which is in charge of researching and evaluating the effects on reducing greenhouse gas emissions from transportation sources by realizing automobiles equipped with a photovoltaic system. The Committee found that, depending on the usage patterns, it is possible to operate the vehicle while completely forgoing charging for a one-year period. These results were published today as the interim report of the Committee. The Committee will continue reviewing related issues in order to contribute to creating new markets for photovoltaic systems as well as solving energy and environmental problems.
