The University of Tokyo, which is a participant in NEDO’s project "Development of advanced laser processing with intelligence based on high-brightness and high-efficiency next-generation laser technologies (TACMI project)", has established the "TACMI (Technological Approaches toward Cool laser Manufacturing with Intelligence) Consortium." The consortium was formally established on October 30 for the purpose of promoting next-generation laser processing through collaboration among industry, academia, and government. While twenty-three entities participating in the NEDO's project will join the consortium, the University of Tokyo also plans to recruit new members from various fields. NEDO will collaborate with the consortium to encourage demonstration activities for next-generation laser processing.

The consortium has scheduled a symposium, which will serve as a kick-off event, on December 13.
