NEDO will organize the "Robot Symposium for Logistics, Infrastructure Inspection, and Disaster Relief," to be held in three locations including Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka in March.
During this symposium, lectures will be held to introduce the latest results of NEDO's research on robot performance evaluation methods, which it has undertaken in order to accelerate the societal implementation of robots such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), underwater inspection robots, and land robots. These robots are expected to be utilized in many fields, including logistics, infrastructure inspection, and disaster relief. The Fukushima Robot Testing Field (in Namie, Minamisoma), which is expected to be utilized to great effect in the research, will also be showcased. Additionally, the symposium will have panel discussions with experts in various robotics fields.
