– Will collaborate with convenience stores, food/consumer goods manufacturers, wholesalers, and logistics centers –
February 2, 2018
New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)
NEDO, together with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd., will conduct a demonstration test of a RFID tag-based information-sharing system for supply chains from February 14 to 23. The test will be conducted in cooperation with food/consumer goods manufacturers, wholesalers, logistics centers, and convenience store operators. In this demonstration test, RFID tags will be placed on food, consumer goods, and other products, which will then be tracked throughout the supply chain as they travel from the manufacturer to the wholesaler to the convenience store. During the test, the information generated from the tag will be consolidated in the centralized system, which will be used to verify the system’s effectiveness.
