NEDO Co-hosted the Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) / Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure Symposium 2018

On October 30, NEDO co-hosted the symposium on the Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) / Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure in Osaka Prefecture together with the Cabinet Office and the Kansai Institute of Information Systems.

With the project now in its fourth year, it was the first time it has been held in Kansai. There were explanations about the situation of research and development that is in the process of producing concrete results and the situation of preparations toward societal implementation. These was given by core management members promoting this project and various research institutes and companies. A forum was also provided to discuss challenges toward introduction and countermeasures for that to social infrastructure companies and institutes implementing this technology.

In addition, Atsuhiro Goto, Program Director, gave a keynote speech on the overall picture of the Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) / Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure project.

There were more than 150 participants on the day of this event. Many opinions were exchanged and hopes were raised concerning the importance of security technology for critical infrastructure and its exit strategies.
