Participated in The Future of Energy Summit 2014

The Future of Energy Summit 2014 was held on April 8 in New York City, U.S.A. Global leaders from industry, finance and government agencies relating to energy gathered here to discuss the future of energy in areas such as renewable energy and power/infrastructure systems. Chairman Kazuo Furukawa of NEDO participated as a panelist in a plenary session attended by all participants.

The chairman discussed the best approaches toward energy systems and policy with Dr. Amory Lovins, who has been advocating a shift to renewable energy for 30 years, Connie Hedegaard, Climate Commissioner of the EU, Lord Browne of Madingley, former CEO of British Petroleum and Managing Director, Riverstone Holdings LLC, and Carlos Pascual, Special Envoy and Coordinator for International Energy Affairs, US State Department.
