Chairman Furukawa visited Cambodia and Saudi Arabia

NEDO Chairman Kazuo Furukawa visited Cambodia and Saudi Arabia together with Mr. Toshimitsu Motegi, Japan's Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

In Cambodia, Chairman Furukawa attended talks between Minister Motegi and Prime Minister Hun Sen in the capital of Phnom Penh on April 27. Prime Minister Hun Sen noted the importance for Cambodia of NEDO's Energy and Environmental Technology Demonstration and Development Project Using Biomass, and expressed thanks for the contributions of NEDO.

In Saudi Arabia there were talks on May 4 in the capital city of Riyadh with Dr. Tawfig Fozan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment regarding the Model Project for Energy Saving Water Reclamation with Membrane Technology which is currently underway in Saudi industrial parks (MODON), noting the project's effectiveness and its symbolic value for the two countries.
