Report on Power Grid Electrical Energy Storage Released at the Global Smart Grid Federation public workshop in Mexico

On December 2-3, the Global Smart Grid Federation (GSGF) held its bi-annual meeting in Mexico City (Vice Chair: NEDO Special Advisor Hiroshi Kuniyoshi). The GSGF is composed of organizations from 18 countries/regions around the world that promote smart grid implementation. The GSGF’s Power Grid Electrical Energy Storage Work Group, which was chaired by Japan, presented case studies of the introduction of electrical energy storage to power grids in member countries, and released a report on the prospects for market expansion and business opportunities in the future.
NEDO Executive Director Makoto Watanabe also gave a presentation on micro grids in Japan to government and company officials who participated in the event.
