Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program Next-generation Power Electronics Symposium Held in Tokyo

On March 28-29, 2019, NEDO and the Cabinet Office of Japan jointly held the Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) Next-generation Power Electronics Symposium in Tokyo.

At the symposium, Program Director Tatsuo Oomori, project leaders, and other experts made presentations regarding results realized under the five-year SIP Next-generation Power Electronics research project being coordinated by NEDO in its capacity as a management organization. In addition, nearly 100 panel presentations and displays of wafers/crystals for next-generation power semiconductor materials, passive components, automotive power modules, inverters, in-wheel motors, and other items were exhibited and a productive exchange of views took place among the many symposium participants.

Approximately 390 participants gathered for the two-day symposium where many opinions and expectations were shared regarding exit strategies and the importance of disseminating information.
