NEDO and Tokyo Metropolitan Government Conclude Agreement on Promotion of Hydrogen Energy

On January 23, 2020, NEDO and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) concluded a comprehensive agreement at the TMG Building on the promotion of hydrogen energy.

Under the comprehensive agreement between TMG, which actively promotes the utilization of hydrogen-related technologies, and NEDO, which promotes innovative demonstration projects and technology development, NEDO plans to provide technical expertise relevant to TMG policies and collaborate with TMG on enhanced public outreach efforts.

In his remarks at the signing ceremony for the agreement, NEDO Chairman ISHIZUKA Hiroaki noted that, "By conveying the importance and benefits of hydrogen to the public in an easy-to-understand way, for example by publicizing the effective utilization of hydrogen produced at the facility in Namie Town, Fukushima Prefecture, scheduled to begin operations around July this year, NEDO intends to continue working hard toward the realization of a hydrogen society."
