NEDO Holds Symposium on Development of Innovative Sensing Technology to Realize IoT Society

January 23, 2020

On January 15, 2020, NEDO held a symposium in Tokyo regarding the development of innovative sensing technology to realize an IoT society.

At the symposium, experts in various fields introduced the latest trends in innovative sensing and its fundamental technologies with a view to realizing a future Society 5.0 where, through the precise visualization of various problems using an abundance of actual data gathered from people and all kinds of "things," social problems may be resolved at an early stage and new industries can also be created.

In addition, NEDO introduced its project concerned with the development of sensing technologies which was initiated in fiscal year 2019 and reported that, since the scope of the project will be expanded in the next fiscal year, it has been renamed the Development of Innovative Sensing Technology to Realize an IoT Society and aims creation of services that has not been realized through current state-of-the-art technologies.

More than 200 representatives of various companies, universities, and other organizations participated in the symposium, indicating the high level of interest in innovative sensing technologies.
