NEDO Participates in International Robot Exhibition 2019

From December 18-21, 2019, NEDO organized an exhibit at the International Robot Exhibition 2019 held at Tokyo Big Sight. In addition, on December 20, NEDO held Robot/AI Forum 2019 and a symposium regarding its Technology Development Project for Robot Commercialization Applications.

At its exhibition booth, NEDO displayed 11 robots being used in four areas of activity: Robot Learning, Robot Assistance, Robot Labor, and Robot Running. In addition, hourly demonstration tours were offered, attracting the interest of many visitors.

On the morning of December 20, NEDO held its Robot/AI Forum 2019 where experts from Japan and overseas provided presentations regarding future prospects for robotics and AI technologies. NEDO also provided a presentation regarding noteworthy trends in robotics and AI technologies for 2020.

At the symposium regarding its Technology Development Project for Robot Commercialization Applications, which was held in the afternoon of the same day, NEDO introduced the project’s latest results, as well as the challenges and strategies for introducing robots into new fields, and future plans for robot commercialization. Discussion also took place regarding business prospects and challenges for robots utilizing open-source software.
