英文要約Title: Strategic Development of Mechanical and Electrical Components for Residential PEFC System (FY2007-FY2009) FY2007 Annual Report The project to develop Balance of Plant (B. O. P.), such as mechanical components and electrical components, for the residential fuel cell co-generation systems was conducted by five fuel cell system manufacturers (Ebara Ballard corporation, Toshiba fuel cell power system corporation, Fuji electric advanced technology Co., Ltd., Matsushita electric industrial Co., Ltd., and Sanyo electric Co., Ltd.). The component manufacturers also joined in the project to develop each component with their own technology. In the previous project since FY2005 through FY2006, system manufacturers established common specifications and targets for blowers, pumps, sensors and valves in FY2005, which included fundamental performances, durability and cost. Component manufacturers promoted their technology development to satisfy project specifications and targets since FY2005. They also studied and developed manufacturing process for readiness of real commercialization. In the following project in FY2007, the components manufacturers completed the development of commercial based components by their activities. Manufacturing approach to prepare commercial units toward FY2008 or 2009 was established as well. Major results for project target are summarized as follows. a) Performance All components meet the target specification for such as inlet/outlet conditions and efficiency. b) Durability All components meet the 40,000hrs of durability. Some of them show even longer durability through accelerating testing. c) Cost Comparing with 410k-yen of initial estimation, significant cost reduction was achieved and is expected the potential of 110k-yen by the project. The project will expand its category of component development to such as water treatment unit, heat exchanger and power conditioner in FY2008 and 2009. The report summarizes the project outcome in FY2007, which is related to final activities for blowers, pumps, sensors and valves. (1) Raw-fuel feeding blower Diaphragm-type and bellows-type boosters were developed in the project. They showed enough fundamental performances even at the partial load, however, the electrical power consumption was higher than the target value and must be improved. For the improvement of durability, the accelerated tests have been achieved, on which temperature and stroke were varied. In addition to that, it was confirmed that the leak level was acceptable enough for practical use by leak verification testing. The required power was also improved to meet the target by optimum design for each blower. The blowers satisfied the required durability for 40,000hrs operation. Cost was significantly reduced by the project activities, but still need further reduction to meet the final target.
