英文要約Title: Researches and developments of high-strength bipolar plates with waveform Interim report (FY2007-FY2009) FY2008 Annual Report We are now developing new carbon/resin composite bipolar plates (hereinafter called“plates”) for polymer electrolyte fuel cells with higher efficiency, higher reliability and lower cost. We could establish the production technologies for thinner and wave-formed plates. During Year 2008-2009, we will develop the mass-production technologies of thinner and wave-formed plates by using the results obtained until 2007.Our goals that we should achieved by March 20th, 2010 are as follows; (A)Material development that molding time is 10 sec. per one plate. (B)Molding technology and production machine development that molding process time is 40 sec. per one plate or less.(C)Technology and machine development that deflashing or thickness measurement process time is 40 sec. per one plate in one process or less. (D)The following performances are achieved from the viewpoint of the realistic plate;(a) Wave-formed plates can be produce, the thinnest thickness in a plate is 0.2mm or less.(b)Thickness variation of the plate: 50 micrometer or less.(c)Electrical resistance: 12 mΩ・cm or less(d)Heat-resistant temperature: 120 degree C and more (e) Plate size: A4 size The followings are summary of results obtained in Year 2008. 1)Material development In 2008, we have developed the molding material with 15 sec per one plate as molding time, although the goal (10sec) is not met yet. We will continue the development of the molding material to meet the goal in 2009. 2)Molding machine development In 2008, we have developed the molding technology and machines. In 2009, we will do automatic operation in the molding process by using the developed technologies and machines. 3)Molding trials of A4 size plates We achieved the molding trials by using a molding tool for A4 size wave-formed plates with 0.2mm thickness and 2 degrees of draft angle. 4)The thickness of the plate We have achieved the thickness measurements for 1600 plates. As the results of the thickness measurement, the thickness variation of the plates was 25 micrometer on average.
