英文要約The Innovative Technology Project for SBIR Feasibility study for Resistible Security Uniforms to Liquid Chemical Materials with Physical and Chemical Treatment (FY2008-FY2009) FY2008 Annual Report
This feasibility study is conducted to discover a technology to prevent liquid chemical materials from penetrating into security uniforms. Applying nano technology, the evaluation of nano structures of fabrics like "lotus effect" is based on the three treatment methods: physical treatment method, chemical treatment method, and both physical and chemical treatment method. Nano structure are formed by sandpapering a surface of fluoro-resin film, template-based hot-imprinting procedure, and by electro spinning fluororesin. Template-based hot-imprinting procedure shows the highest water repellence value (contact angle of 131 degrees to water), however, this result is not enough for fulfilling a target value. In order to improve the level of water repellence, fluororesin is coated on cotton (100%) by padding method as a chemical treatment. Furthermore, raising and adding micro particles such as zeolite enable to form nano structures on the surface of fabrics. As a result, the level of water and oil repellence has improved. For a further study, a method to laminate fluorine film to fluororesin coated cotton to prevent any liquid chemical material from penetrating into security uniforms has been being examined. A marketing research demonstrates that the marketing scale of security uniforms is several billions of yen level including multipurpose uses in Japan. Moreover, there will be a possibility to apply the water/oil repellence technology to solar electronic and electronic marketing areas. Also, it can be applicable to umbrella and clothing business that is the main business of HIRAMATSU INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD. As for a survey of a technological tendency, 33 patents relating to harmful security uniforms and a water/oil repellence function of fabrics, and 36 patens mentioning contact angle, which is over 150 degrees, are found. In addition, 3 academic journals about super water repellence are discovered.
