英文要約Title: Verification test on the bark use as the steam heat source in a wood fiber thermal insulation manufacturing plant: (FY2008-FY2010) FY2008 Annual Report. In order to supply the steam used in a wood fiber thermal insulation manufacturing plant, the bark is used as biomass fuel. The efficient usage of bark as thermal energy is to be established by combining exhaust heat recovery system. Construction of a boiler and installation of associated equipment have been carried out in the plant located in Tomakomai, Hokkaido in this fiscal year. Measurement method of the moisture content of bark and the industrial chemical analysis of bark were examined. : The ground bark was collected from several lumber mills in Hokkaido.  The industrial chemical analysis of the bark sample was conducted based on method described in JIS M8812.Air dried basis moisture content of each sample was calculated from weight change before and after heated-drying at 107 degrees for 60 minutes.Volatile matter content was calculated from the weight change after 7 minutes heating at 900 ℃.Ash content was calculated from the weight loss after heating at 815 ℃ for 60 minutes.Gross calorific value of four sorts of bark samples on air-dried basis is over 19MJ/kg, and differences among each sample are also small.Ash content of bark ranges from 1.7 to 3.0%.Volatile matter content and fixed carbon content had a small variation for examined bark samples. : So as to measure moisture content of bark as fuel, the drying by heating type moisture content meter, which calculates moisture content from the weight change before and after heating, was used. Examination of the (1) optimal heating temperature and the (2) optimal sample weight was performed to establish quick and easy measuring method of moisture content. The finely ground bark was used in this study. It is confirmed that the measured value of moisture content stabilizes in a shorter time when the amount of bark is smaller. Moreover, duplicate measurement was performed for the each quantity of bark. It proved that deviation is smaller when large amount of bark is used for measurement. Correlation between the moisture content in the middle of measurement and that after 60-minute measurement was investigated. Significant correlation was seen between the readings of moisture content after 15-minutes drying by heating, and the moisture content measured value after 60-minutes drying by heating. This means that drying by heating is not necessary for more than 15-minutes in order to know approximate moisture content of bark.
