英文要約Title : Development of High-performance Battery System for Next-generation Vehicles/ Elemental technology development / Research and development of high safety electrolytes for large-sized rechargeable lithium batteries(FY2007-FY2009) FY2008 Annual Report
We have studied [the creation of functional ionic liquid] expected as a candidate of high safety electrolyte material. First, we designed the new chemical structure of ionic liquid possessing higher electrochemical performance by computational chemistry, for example, ionic liquid consisted of imidazolium cation and cyanophosphate anion. Actually, we synthesized 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium trichlorotricyanophosphate. This ionic liquid was transparent, and showed the melting point below 0 degree C, the viscosity of 91 mPa.s, the conductivity of 3 mS/cm. As for the ionic liquids with acetylacetonato-type anion that have been started the study from FY2007, we synthesized five new ionic liquids and measured their properties. For example, 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium 1,1,1,5,5,6,6,6-octafuluoro-2,4-hexanedionate is transparent, the melting point of 17 degree C, the viscosity of 38 mPa.s, the conductivity of 4 mS/cm and the voltage window of 3 V. On the other hand, as for the safety evaluation of ionic liquid by thermal analysis under contact with cathode material, it was found out that the chemical structure of anion had great influence on the stability of ionic liquid. We compared the exothermic start temperature and the generated quantity of heat among ionic liquids. Furthermore, the exothermic decomposition mechanism, the influence of Li salt and the identification of generated gas were studied.
