英文要約Title: Development of Energy-saving ITS Technologies. Establishment of Reliable International Evaluation Methods (FY2008 - FY2012) FY2009 Annual Report
1. Development of Hybrid Traffic Simulation (Topic 1): In this year, we have implemented the theoretical framework of the Hybrid Traffic Simulation which harmonizes mesoscopic and microscopic models. The pilot study on Kanto regional network was revised to use the latest dataset. In order to improve the execution performance of the case studies with large-scale networks, the simulation software was extended to grid computing architecture. 2. Development of CO2 Monitoring System with Probe Data (Topic 2): As the first step in monitoring, data fusion method on traffic detector and probe data was implemented in the prototype software. For the next step, the basic idea to estimate CO2 emission only from probe data was studied. CO2 emission will be estimated using the traffic simulation result calibrated to fit the area congestion index of the subject day. 3. Development of CO2 emission model (Topic 3): We measured time series driving speed and fuel consumption data under various road conditions in order to create a database of the mesoscopic CO2 emission model that assumes a two-state pattern (run and stop) of data input. To supplement the mesoscopic CO2 emission model, we also developed microscopic CO2 emission models of conventional internal combustion engine vehicles and hybrid vehicles. 4. Development of Traffic Database (Topic 4): With the suggested Meta information standard for traffic data from last year, we have now established a minimum required meta information standard in version 1.1, which determines necessary data for the measurement itself, its location and a contact. The International Traffic Database has been further tested during the year with some additional data being added. To accelerate the usage of ITDb we have extended the system with personalized version under the name: myITDb. To make the usage of ITDb more attractive we had plans to write software tools for visualization and analysis of traffic data. ITDb now has basic tools for data analysis and for further developments we are co-operating with the National Institute of Informatics to provide software that enables research and practice to collect and evaluate unique traffic data from behavioral studies. 5. Verification of CO2 emission (Topic 5): We assumed that models meeting the "Common verification standard" satisfied the international criteria for evaluating ITS applications. The “VVD” policy, which includes theoretical verification and validation by real data and disclosure, is proposed for cooperating EU and US researchers. 6. International Collaboration (Topic 6): The collaboration between partners worldwide is flourishing. Through two international workshops, we have agreed to define six sub-topics under the Energy ITS project and nominated a leader for each of the sub-topics so as to accelerate the technical research efficiently.
